Over the last few days we have been looking into real concrete worktops for one of our clients and thought we would share what we came across.

Pros and Cons of concrete worktops.

We started looking into real concrete, cast on site, to make the island worktop. After some reasearch we decided real concrete would take a long time to cast and in the end gives a surface that is quite easily stained.

There are companies out there offering glass fibre enforced concrete, and resin sealed finishes. We intend to keep looking into these options. But for the proejct and client in question we settled apon a quartz worktop from Caesarstone. Raw Concrete, is a solid sealed quartz surface, giving a very close look and feel to a polished concrete top, but much better for day to day living.
