Bespoke. British. Handmade Inframe Kitchens.
From the rich dark hues of walnut and the light shades of maple to the warm colours of a hand painted kitchen, each piece of furniture manufactured by Portrait Kitchens can be hand made for you in the materials and style of your choice. We offer a wide range of furniture to suit all home styles and design aspirations.
Hand painted furniture remains at the forefront of design whether it be for traditional or contemporary rooms. This style suits both penthouse apartments and country homes. With an unlimited palette available your hardest decision will be choosing which colour suits you and your home.
Mixing and matching timbers with hand painted furniture allows you to create another dimension within your home. Combine the rich colours of walnut with satin brass or polished nickel handles to enhance your room. Other timbers of course can be used to add depth and interest.
Truly personalised kitchens made with carefully selected timbers combined with curved cabinets, hand carved corbels and pilasters create a unique heart of the home. Add in champagne sinks, chandeliers and crystal knobs to establish a truly luxurious environment.
A utility room, Walk in larder or Butlers Pantry can offer a plethora of useful storage ideas and solutions and can be designed around your family’s lifestyle and daily demands.
We want to create beautiful homes
Our kitchens are hand painted on site in any brand or colour of paint you choose. Drawers are solid oak or walnut and feature traditional dovetailed joints. Decorative cupboard interiors offer a choice of finishes. The handles and classic butt hinges, all British-made, are available in your choice of brushed or polished nickel, pewter, brass, copper and more. Our storage solutions are clever, robust and exquisitely designed specifically for your space.
We handle design, manufacture and installation of these kitchens ourselves. With each kitchen made from scratch we can customise it to match your ideas, your style and your room design. We’ll also ensure you get all the features that align with how you plan on using your space.

Handmade Inframe Kitchen Costs
With each kitchen being designed and made bespoke for your home, the overall costs can vary massively. Typically our inframe kitchen projects cost from £20,000 upward; inclusive of cabinets, worktops, appliances and installation. We have completed smaller projects for under £20,000 and equally some larger or more complicated designs can exceed £60,000
Spend is broken down into 4 main areas; Cabinetry, Appliances, Worktops and Installation.
Cabinet spend on a handmade in-frame kitchen typically will start from £8,000 – the number of cabinets, the number of drawers and the complexity of the design all influence this cost.
Appliances. We often specify a range of Siemens or Neff integrated appliances and for a full kitchen suite this can be £4 – £9,000. Some customers ask us to source other brands such as Miele which will often total around £15-20k, or Gaggenau which will be £30,000+
Worktops. Granite or Quartz will be £2500 upward, and will vary depending on the rarity of the natural stone, or, the quality/brand of the quartz manufacturer. Corian often has a similar price to quartz, such as Silestone, but can exceed stone pricing if using lots of molded details such as Corian sink bowls and curved upstands, as these elements can be labour intensive. There are many other materials for worktops – wood, marble, steel, glass – all with varying qualities and price points.
Installation of a kitchen. A dry fit (where the plumbing, electrics etc are done by others) would start from £2000, and would depend on the number of days required on site to complete the installation. We can also incorporate other parts of the installation such as tiling, decoration, plumbing etc if required.
It’s best to discuss your individual project with one of our design team directly!
Making a showroom appointment we would happy to discuss your project, run you through the options and can give an early indication of cost. From there we can come and take accurate measurements or work from your plans to put together a design concept and full breakdown of the accurate costs.
